The return to a 12-man tournament resulted in one of the most competitive matches seen in years, Corn made up a 4 point deficit in the morning individual matches on Saturday taking a 1 point lead but lost by 3 points in the afternoon matches, ultimately falling to Soda 13 to 11. It was a surprising turn of events as Soda, led by former EC member Pete "Sticks" Stracke, needed a full team effort to overcome Corn who was led by GOTY John "Desert Crapper" Dubay's stellar play. In contrast to the tightly contested tournament, the 4-man scramble was a total rout as the team of Brian "Iced Tea" Jackson, Roy "TanMan" Tanner, Jerry "Tarzan" Jungels, and Desert Crapper shot 9 under par winning the back and overall Nassau. The Duffer jacket was well earned by EC member Eric "E" Olson who only won a single match. The long drive went to TanMan and the closest to the pin went to Iced Tea. Keeping his winning ways in tact, Desert Crapper won the Partnering with a Pro contest, riding Bryson Dechambeau to victory. John "Geese" Geiselmann took second place money while Brian "Algae" Allgaier and Dave "Jack" Nicholson tied for third.

Returning to an old favorite - Las Vegas!

After a 10 year absence, the Corn and Soda championship tournament returns to Viva Las Vegas, baby!! This is the 1st time Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman has been involved with hosting the tournament even though she's been in office since 2011. When notified of being selected as the host city for the 34th annual event, Carolyn boasted “We're on a roll. It's no accident that the Corn and Soda executive committee sought our fine city to be the host. They saw how Vegas is becoming the new sports capital of the US now that we have the Las Vegas Knights expansion hockey franchise, and of course, everyone knows of the NFL Raiders upcoming move here.” She further extolled the Vegas virtues saying, “No longer do we just tout Vegas for it's superb gambling casinos, restaurants, and shows. We also have first rate golfing and professional sports teams to boot". For the first time, the Corn and Soda contestants will be staying on the Vegas strip at the Monte Carlo resort..

Courses

Four challenging golf links will be used in the event, with all being highly rated, having superb vistas and requiring challenging shot making.
