Results

After a rocky start to the event with the sudden illness to Carl "Skets" Sacchetti and flight delays affecting 6 players, the tournament was able to regain it's footing and went along well after the modified scramble contest whcih saw three 3-man teams battle it out.  Pete "Sticks" Stracke, Dave "Jack" Nicholson, and Roy "TanMan" Tanner beat out the other 2 teams by 2 strokes and 5 and 6 Stableford points to win the scramble.

In the battle for the Cup, only Corn seemed to have shown up as they won each days scoring resulting in a 10 point victory. Led by co-GOTY's Chris "dB" Bender and Jay "NoMoo" Walsh, Corn had a 5 point lead after day 1 and increased this by another point on day 2.  With such a large victory, it was not unexpected to see 2 of Soda's players tied for last place in the GOTY standings with Mikael "Sven" Rudin amiably taking home the Big Duffer award.

The long drive contest was won by Brian "Meat" Smith and the closest to the pin was earned by Tom "Ollie" Oliger.  The 2 Buck award went to Gary "Snuffy" Shaw, Sven, and Jack who inexplicably decided that hole scores and handicaps were not needed in scoring the first 9 hole match.  The partnering with a pro contest was decisevely won by NoMoo who went down under with his selection of J. Day to take home $150.  Angelo "Ice" Scarnati (partnered with R. Hojgarrd), dB (partnered with T. Kim), and Meat (partnered with J. Rose) tied for 2nd place and took home $50 each.

Overview

After a long gap, the 39th annual C&S event will finally return to the Tampa/St. Pete area.  The last time C&S ventured to this golfing mecca was 3 decades ago in the last millenia in 1995. The courses lined up for this years event include the TPC Tampa Bay along with 3 other well regarded layouts that will test our skill.  All courses are within 30 minutes or less of our accomodations in the Emerald Green Villas.

Former police officer and current Tampa Bay Mayor Jane Castor reflected on our choice of their esteemed city for hosting the C&S tournament saying "This is indeed an honor for our city to be selected for such a venerable tournament and we will do all we can to help make it a success.  We are glad to be chosen for the 2nd time to be the host city and hope to continue to be on the C&S rota for many years to come.".
