Synopsis
This C&S Cup will long be remembered for both outstanding shots and weather. Bootcheck’s chip-in and 45 foot birdie putt as well as Brown’s chip-in for par and 80 foot birdie putt during the scramble championship come to mind. In the 2nd round, Corn looks certain to hold a 5 to 1 point lead with 2 holes to play but Soda thought otherwise as Olson makes a birdie on the 8th hole and a 20 foot Kazmerski putt (no whiff this time!) on the 9th hole evened the 1st day scoreboard at 3 to 3. Day 2 yielded a rookie mistake with Matthews playing the wrong ball, losing a hole Soda was certain to win and handing Corn a 1-up victory. Tied with Soda entering Day 3, Corn is overwhelmed by Soda who takes the morning matches 5 to 1 and ends up winning the Cup by 3 points.
